Mission Statement
For a long time, there has been a strong intention of establishing a much-needed home for the elderly, for the benefit of all. Although there are countless reasons why this is needed, we will give a brief explanation.
The two main reasons being to serve the elderly and to serve the Dharma by means of direct practice. From accounts of the state of affairs of our local elderly population, we understand that some do not have the usual safeguards of medical care and monitoring as they get older.
Some, are cast aside from the community and therefore when they get sick and are approaching death, there is no one even to give them water or medicine. Some, when they die, are abandoned and no one is even aware of their passing.
Likewise, when the ordained are studying in the monastery, they are not able to look after their parents and this can create many obstacles for their Dharma path.
Objectives
Providing these elderly Dharma siblings with a cheerful place to stay in a carefree environment where they can engage in virtuous practice and recitations together, this gives great meaning to the remainder of their lives.
Based on this, our Dharma brothers and sisters who are separated from their families will have a place to stay together and future generations will also always have a place to call home.
Providing this place for the elderly parents of our ordained sangha will free them from worry and thus they will be able to continuously make efforts in study and practice of the teachings of Je Tsongkhapa, thereby ensuring this tradition remains for a long time to come and flourish without faults.
When the elderly have a place to stay during harsh weather conditions and they can easily obtain food and medicine, this spares them much hardship.

It is a sincere request to all our compassionate Dharma brothers and sisters residing all over the world that we should support each other and offer our help when we are able. With your generous contribution we have been able to purchase a 10-anna property in Namo Buddha, one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the world. Much of this project will depend on the generosity and support from you so please donate in your own capacity and do also share this with other likeminded people. This is our appeal for your compassionate assistance. Thank you!
